Absolutely. I am so excited to have you on the show because, unlike so many other

interviews I have done over the years, this is a story that's not well-known, and we're going

to jump into it a little bit, but could you first tell me how did you hear about this story?

Yeah, it came to me in what must have been 2018. I remember I had the proofs of my previous book,

Shameless Plug here, but in 1939, we were on my desk, and I got an email then from a Polish friend of mine,

who basically said that the story of the Welsh group was kind of bubbling under a bit,

it was sort of beginning to show, you know, there were sort of journalistic articles and

newspaper articles and so on, about it, both in Poland and in Switzerland at the time.

And you said, this is a really interesting story, you know, what do you think?

And I sort of looked at it, I looked at what had been written, and I thought it was a brilliant

story. It's a rare thing in that sense because it's a kind of a relatively positive story from

the Holocaust, which is a rare beast. So that appealed, and in a sense, a lot of what I've been

writing, I've been writing about World War II and Central Europe all my career, and that meant

you sort of circle around the Holocaust a lot without actually diving in and telling the story
