Even though the FBI plays a role in disappearance investigations in the United States, really we haven't talked about the Bureau much

over the past eight years. Well today you get to hear from one of their own, including some of the well-known cases she has

consulted on.

Do you remember?

Some of your cases, maybe we'll just start here. Do you remember your first

assignment, once you became a profile, he went through all this, so you got credited and

everything else, what can you tell the listeners about your first profile case?

I think we, you know, although I know you've covered men or many, even I remember the first

disappearance I featured on Unfound, I'm going to guess it's maybe the same for your first profiling.

Sure. So the first case and I actually was not certified. I had just finished my 16 weeks of the classroom work.

And so once you finish your classroom work,

you can be assigned cases.

So I wasn't certified yet, but my first case

was the murder of Philip D. Martino in San Francisco.

And he was a gay man who was found murdered in his apartment.

He'd been stabbed several times like 47 times and that was my first

assignment I had just finished class that day and I was in my office packing up ready to go home and my boss comes in he said we have this case coming in from San Francisco and it was very it was a very early stages and one of the things I think that they were wanting was was this some sort of serial
