I'm sometimes a bit surprised by the things that I overhear people say here in the neighborhood.

I'll be sitting at a bar or a restaurant, a gas station, and I'll over hear somebody say something that seems pretty funny when you hear it out of context.

So I started writing them down, and I started posting them on Twitter at Otis Gibbs.

And you can go there and read some of them if you'd like.

It's funny stuff when you read it.

But one of them was, I was at a bar a couple

nights ago, and I saw this old guy trying to hit on these girls, these young girls, and they

really weren't that interested in him. And I guess he felt like he needed to dig deep and come

up with a really good line to somehow win them over. So he leaned across a table, and I guess the best line he could come up with was I lost all

of my teeth in a chainsaw accident.

This is a personal journal. This is a bit of an experiment.

I like to say right up front that I haven't the slightest idea

what I'm doing, but I decided to do it anyway. And this show was founded with the idea that

there are only two people in art that matter. There's the creative individual and the person

experiencing it, and everything else is an artificial filter. This is a way for me to share

things with you guys without any filters whatsoever.
