Summary

Brent Bookwalter stands strong as America's longest running World Tour professional cyclist. Not just along for the ride, Brent has won UCI races, was second to Bradley Wiggins in the opening stage of the Giro, and even helped Cadel Evans win the 2011 Tour de France. Longtime friends, Brent and Ted have had careers run in tandem to each other. Teammates on the US national team, teammates on domestic pro teams, they migrated to Europe together, and even lived together in their early time racing abroad. On the eve of the Gran Prix Cycliste Quebec City, the two had the chance to catch up and chat all things under the sun, largely reflecting on a stalwart career at the highest echelon of the sport. 0:36.2	This particular conversation was recorded on the eve of Grand Prix, Quebec City, with none other than my very, very good friend,

0:41.6	Longtime Pro Tour turned world tour professional cyclist, Brent Book Walter, the longest current
0:47.2	American pro, continuing to rack up a stellar career in the world tour.
0:52.4	He and I have had careers run in parallel in a whole bunch of interesting ways.
0:57.0	Being just one year apart in age, we duped it out on the collegiate ranks way, way back when.
1:02.2	We went over to the U.S. national team in Belgium at the same time.
1:05.4	We're teammates there in 2005.
1:08.1	We then raced on the same shoestring budget domestic pro team, Priority Health in 2006.
1:13.2	From there, Brent went on to race on the lowly, then lowly pro-continental BMC squad,
1:20.1	the same squad that became the powerhouse BMC team that ran the course of 10 years,
1:25.8	with Brent proving his worth as the only holdout rider
1:29.0	from that original team all along the way.
1:32.7	I believe we raced our first grand tours together.
1:35.9	Brent and I were even housemates in Gerona for a year, living on Cayet de Abiodadores
1:41.2	in the heart of Gerona's old town.
