My friend Bryce Johnson joins us to share his story. Bryce is an active Latter-day Saint and is honest that he doesn’t know exactly his future. He shares he could marry a man or marry a woman—and is looking for is people in his life that love, support and accept him. That are not telling him how to live his life—but walking with him in his journey. Bryce shares coming out to his parents at age 12, serving a mission, and life after his mission. Bryce talks about difficult and positive church experiences and learning to rely on his Heavenly Parents for direction and the Savior (and therapy) to heal. We're going to talk about Bryce's story as a gay Latter-day Saint, and I'll just introduce him to you,

and then I'll give him a chance to correct anything I said about his bio.

He's in his late 20s.

He grew up and lives in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

He attended BYU and Utah State University where he has a degree.

It's BYU, Idaho, Idaho, State University. Utah State University, where has a degree. It's a, uh, uh, uh, BYU,

Idaho and Idaho State University. Idaho State University and, um, has a degree in psychology

and is working in social work right now. Um, he came out, you know, he's in his late 20s. He

started talking about this with his parents at age 12.

So that's roughly 17 years, if I do the math, nearly two decades. So this will be just

Bryce telling his story, probably from that experience up until 29. Bryce served a mission in

Kentucky from 2011 to 2013. He has been active in the church, but is in a place now

where it's just trying to figure out his future. And I became aware of Bryce. We've been

Facebook friends for a while, but like social media, don't know everybody's story that

you're Facebook friends with.

But then I made a post about a podcast, and a lot of people commented on that. But Bryce's comment, you know, of the 200 comments, for some reason, I just kept rereading Bryce's comment.

And I finally reached out to him and just said, would you be on the podcast?
