It wasn't until recently that I really began to explore the role of shame in my life.

For a very long time, I never really resonated with having those embarrassing moments, as

I think a lot of us associate with feeling shameful those moments of humiliation or where

we just don't feel good about ourselves.

I've come to realize more recently how for some of us, myself included, shame is so baked

into who we are that it is such an unconscious process that we actually live with daily.

So what better time than to dive deeper into the topic of shame?

Shame naturally lends itself coming from our past episodes.

The most recent one being about being misunderstood and what comes with being misunderstood is usually

an innate shame for the person or the experience of yourself that you feel others aren't

understanding.

If you are in a society of people who don't get you, it's a very natural human response

to then be shameful to be embarrassed of that self.

So what actually is shame?

Shame to me is critical self-talk.

It's a self-judgment.

It is our own voice in our minds that is shaming us that we aren't good enough, that it should

be different.

We should be able to do better.
