And welcome to Gleman and the Geek podcast, the Brothers Opening Day Edition. I'm John Bonas at Twinsdaily.com with me, Aaron Gleeman's The Geek Podcast, the Brothers Opening Day Edition.

I'm John Bonas at Twinsdaily.com with me. Aaron Gleeman of Baseball Perspectus Tech. Hello, everybody. Thanks for coming out. We know it's mostly for the free burritos, but we'll take it. We'll take an audience how we can get it. It's nice out. That's right. Twins are about to play. This is great. We did a, I don't know how many people listen to our actual podcast, but we did a sort of season preview podcast on Monday, and we did our over-under picks, and we went over the roster and all that stuff. But there's been a somewhat big news in the AL Central since then, so I thought we'd start with that. Okay.

1:18.8

Francisco Lindor, the MVP caliber shortstop for the Indians, was rehabbing from a leg injury and then sprained his ankle basically yesterday or the day before, and they haven't really

1:24.0

given a time table, but it sounds like it's going to be weeks, plural, at the very least.

1:28.2

And one of the things we talked about when we...

1:29.7

I thought he was out until the end of April anyway.

1:31.5

Is that not right?

1:32.1

No, well, he was going to be on the injured list, but they were trying to get him into minor league games early April. And now he's completely shut down again with a separate injury. And so one of the things we talked about with Cleveland versus the twins trying to handicap the division was the twins are deeper than they've been in a long time, but they don't have, they're hoping Buxden becomes a superstar or Sineau or etc.

1:53.6

But they don't, they're more about quality depth, I think, whereas Cleveland has five basically superstar players, Lindorne Ramirez in the infield, Kluber, Carrasco, and Bauer in the rotation, which is great. I mean, that means they've developed five superstar players. We would kill for five superstars. Right. But what it also means is because they've put a self-imposed spending limit, their offseason was basically just about kind of shedding salaries at the margin, and they did very little to surround those five guys.

2:19.9

Correct.

2:20.2

But those five guys give you such a head start over every team, including the twins, that they can't help but be the division favors.

2:27.8

However, if one of those five guys misses a month or more, let alone two of those five guys, because Ramirez is also

2:35.1

banged up a little bit, and then there's a decent chance, I guess, one of those three

2:39.0

pictures could get hurt too at some point. If they lose Lindor. So my question basically was,

2:44.4

how long would Lindor? Because we both pick the Indians to win the division. Right.

2:49.0

And in fact, we both picked them to beat their over under. So their over under from Vegas was 90 and a half games versus the division. Right. And, in fact, we both picked them to beat their over-under. So their over-under from Vegas was 90-and-a-half games versus the twins over under just 84-half games. We're giving them essentially like a six games better league. Right. So my question to you is, how long would you have to know that Lindor would be out before you would seriously consider going, you know

3:09.3

what, I'll make it a toss up in the division as opposed to think of the Indians were.
