the Crusades Episode 41, Egypt Part 2.

Hello again.

Last week we saw the conflict between the Latin Christians and the Muslims spill over into a new arena, the neighbouring

country of Egypt.

At the conclusion of last week's episode, we saw the ex-visier- ex Vizier Shewa restored to power. Having reneged on his agreement

with Neuradin's Kurdish General Shakura, Shewa allied himself with King Amaric of Jerusalem, who was

keen to bag Egypt as a prize.

Both Shakura and King Amaric left Egypt at the end of last week's episode and returned back home.

Egypt remained the hot topic of the day, and it wasn't long before rumors reached Egypt that

Neuridin's general shakua was once again getting ready to invade the country.

Two years had passed since Shakur had been besieged in the Egyptian town of Bilbays, and during

this time Shaywah had kept himself busy consolidating his position as

Vizier in Egypt.

Shakur had spent much of the intervening two years trying to convince Nuredin to allow him to invade Egypt again,

but Nuredin was reluctant to do so.

On the whole, he was satisfied with the situation as it stood.

The Frange had not been able to gain a foothold in Egypt and for Nure Din that was enough.

For Shakura, however, that wasn't enough.

He had been humiliated by Shaywa's betrayal and was itching for revenge.
