Our guest today, Rebecca Rush, friend and mentor of mine, this setting was fitting that we finally had time to connect and record a

conversation in person as this took place in Leadville, Colorado. Now, I don't know how

you've stumbled on this podcast if you don't know who Rebecca Rush is, but for anyone who needs

a refresher, as her bio reads, Rebecca Rush is an American ultra-endurance pro athlete, a world champion,

author, entrepreneur, Emmy winner, and motivational speaker whose career has spanned numerous

adventure sports, including rock climbing, expedition racing, whitewater rafting, cross-country skiing,

and mountain biking. A four-time Dirtyansas champion, a four-time Leadville champion,

a trendsetter living out of her Ford Bronco decades before van life was fashionable, a friend

and inspiration to countless individuals. I am thrilled with this conversation with so many

nuggets of inspiration or heroic,

or even tear-jacking stories.

I'll point out that we accomplished about 10 minutes of fantastic conversation that we thought

was being recorded before I realized the machinery was busted and said no card in system.

Even though it was in fact in and supposedly operational. Alas, disaster averted, we rebooted and got back at it.

A little scene setting. Host housing is a key part of the Leadville community being such an isolated part of the country

but becoming home to thousands of individuals on race weekend it is mandatory that one becomes

part of the community is in the community rather than operating at arms distance from it so rebecca's a

very good friend and host kathy was kind enough to let us record on her back patio.

Hence, all of the real world noises you might hear in the background, Mountain Town Dogs,

trains driving by, revving cars, and so forth.
