As I'm sure most people who listen to this podcast know,

Merle Haggard passed away recently.

So I thought that I would repost my interview with him from the middle of last year because it was a really special experience

to get to go and have a long casual conversation with this guy who I think is just one of the most important

musicians songwriters singers to ever to ever happen in music much less country

music I mean I think he transcends a genre. But anyway it was like I said the

middle of last summer I had just gotten home from tour I was super tired didn't

want to do anything and I get a call from my friend Davis that helps

him with this podcast.

And he says, hey, man, Merlehagger is going to be up in Bakersfield tomorrow because his childhood

home is being relocated to the Kern County Museum and

his publicist said that you can interview him.

I was like, let's go.

So the next day we jump in my car and we drive up there and we got up there kind of early

We're trying to figure out where we're gonna meet him and we weren't exactly sure what time or what was happening so we go to Woolworth's and we eat a hamburger and we go to

do ours and we get some chews and we're driving around and he's like I think we got to go
