Summary

WE ARE BACK! Season Two is kicking off with one of my favorite episodes of Season Two. Yeah, I said it. No crystal ball over here, I just know it will be – it’s that good. I’m talking to Beth Kirby. She’s a photographer, creative consultant, stylist, and the creator of the beautiful website Local Milk.

Beth and I talk about the past struggles that led her to where she is today, how she said “so long” to the toxic relationships in her life, the new direction for her cooking, and how she’s creating her best content on and offline. You’ll also hear firsthand what it’s like to truly fall in love. Like, you’ll literally get to hear it. You’ll see what I mean. Go listen, already!

P.S. It’s good to be back. Hoping you can make the Trenchermen dinner that I shared in the intro. Call for reservations at 773-661-1540.

Hey, it's Jessica Mernan. It's the one part podcast. It's the one part podcast, and I'm bringing you lessons in next level inspiration. It's season two. I'm really excited to be back. Before we talk about today's guest,

0:35.1

I wanted to tell you two little things. One, I was nominated to speak on a panel at South by Southwest, and I really want to do it. I've got no shame in telling you that I really want to do it. The panel's called Food is Information, and I'm on it with three other doctors, which I think is crazy because I'm not a doctor.

0:55.9

It's out of my control whether or not I get to be on the panel a lot and things that are out of my

0:59.7

control. I don't necessarily like, but you do have control over it because the community votes on

1:07.5

which panels are seen. And I would love for you to cast your vote for that panel.

1:12.6

All of the information is on jessica Mernand.com. I've got to post about it, but then I also put it in

1:17.2

the show notes. Show nits. I don't know why I said it like that show notes. And so go over there,

1:25.4

click on it and it'll lead you to the South by Southwest website.

1:29.1

It's kind of hard to find on there.

1:30.7

So just go to my site first and then go to South by Southwest on the little link.

1:35.3

All right.

1:35.7

Number two, I'm moving.

1:37.1

I'm moving to Charleston, South Carolina, which I'm really excited about.

1:43.1

I'm also nervous and scared, but I'm also really excited.

1:47.2

And more details on that because I just want to get to the show. But the thing that I'm really

1:52.6

excited about is Trencherman found out that I'm moving and they asked that they could host a going

1:58.6

away dinner. Obviously, I said yes, because it's one of the best

2:02.1

restaurants in Chicago. I didn't want to just do a dinner for my friends that I know all the time.

2:11.1

I mean, definitely they'll be there. I wanted to do something a little bit different for the friends

2:15.5

that I haven't met yet in Chicago, and I consider you guys those friends, people that I've met on through this podcast and through

2:22.6

Instagram and have connected through really great emails and messages.
