Hey everybody, this is Jonah Goldberg on another edition of the Remnant and we're

still as I've tried to be saying for a long time now we're still experimenting with

the format and structure of this thing. One of the big pieces of feedback we got

was while a lot of people liked the jockularity and the conversation about dogs

and whatnot that some people don't they just want to hear the conversation with

the guest and that's fine. Some of you are monsters and I can't do anything about

that but so what we're gonna do on this one and we're still playing with this

so I don't make any promises to anything is permanent. We're gonna do in this one

is we're just gonna get right off the bat and introduce Steve Hayes who I just

talked to and then at the end we're gonna do some responses to listener comments

and comments from the iTunes page which is another way of us inducing you to go

to the page make comments give it a good rating and all of the rest and so in a

second we'll start with Steve Hayes who's a known mopper and wanted in three

states and he's also the editor of the weekly standard and for some reason a

friend of mine so that's about it now and we're gonna have a cool sound effect

now right Jack? I'll work on it. Okay remember I'm Jack Butler by the way I'm

very obscure I work for Jonah and this is my first time doing the audio for

this podcast so you can blame all errors on me. Yes as I always do. Yeah I'm

convening in that sense and my my wife now refers to both Jack and to Michael

Pratt who's normally in that chair but is way this week as my nerd boys which

is I don't think a label that you're gonna live down anytime soon. Well I'm an
