Summary

Not long before Ada went missing, another nearby mom named Linda VanBuskirk mysteriously disappeared during a routine walk on a warm March day. As her family and police launch a desperate search, a young boy’s chilling eyewitness account and the discovery of Linda’s body in a shallow grave send shockwaves through the community - while police wonder if Linda’s murder might be connected to Ada disappearance.

0:05.0	single mom, 27-year-old Linda Van Buskirk, had a routine on Tuesdays.
0:09.4	She drive from her home near three rivers in St Joseph County, Michigan, to Kalamazoo for her Bible
0:14.6	study group. Tuesday, March 26, 1985 was no different. So that morning, she dropped her two daughters

0:23.6	She and a friend decided to make a day out of the trip and after Bible studies they did
0:27.5	some shopping before heading back to Lindas.
0:30.7	It was around 3.10 in the afternoon when Linda was dropped off and unseasonably warm for late March.
0:37.0	So Linda called her mother Evelyn to ask if they could keep her girls just a little later than usual so she could take a walk.

0:46.0	Take your walk, enjoy, we'll watch the kids till you get back.

1:03.0	When Linda didn't show up by dinner time, her parents grew anxious.
1:11.0	She was a devoted mother, and it was totally out of character for her to go MIA.
1:17.2	They went to her house, started checking with people who knew her, but no one knew where she
1:21.7	was. It was obvious to them that something was wrong right away
1:25.2	and like Ada Herrody's family they didn't waste any time. They started searching
1:30.0	the area focusing on the familiar stretch of rural roads surrounding her house that she
1:34.3	liked to walk and jog.
1:36.2	And when they still couldn't find her, they called the St Joseph County Sheriff's Office
1:39.2	and reported her missing.
1:41.7	Police quickly joined in the efforts, but there wasn't really a neighborhood to canvas, per se.
