We just had a long conversation off air about the notion of jinxing by speaking about something.

And when you want to blame somebody for Willingham not hitting for the cycle today, you can all blame Aaron Clememan,

who immediately started with, you know, Willingham coming up to to bat with the single, the double, the triple in the books. What does Aaron start doing? He starts researching when the last cycle was, and who has done the cycle, and starts bad-mouthing all kinds of jinxing about the cycle. And what happened, Aaron? He didn't. He was like 99% to hit the home run before I started doing it. He was about 99% chance of hitting that home run and then you had to go and jinx it. I apologize. That's exactly right. But Nick Adcock should be very happy with me because he was going to give up the home run, obviously, otherwise. So he should send me like cards and letters and flowers. I like flowers. Maybe send me that. Yeah, so no jinx. Yeah, no jinx. However you want to... We'll see if the twins can wrap this one up. We'll make sure and let you know when they do. This could be the first... It took us three weeks, but we're finally doing this potentially after a win. I realize I just double jinxed it. You're killing me! John is so upset by this.

I didn't realize he was so superstitious. Because two weeks ago, we came into the studio, and they had the lead, right? At home, similar to this. Perkins came in. You're going to blame me for that one, too? Well, I don't know how I can't. I, uh, I'm sorry. I mean, I apologize to everyone, but what happens now if I'm talking about this and they end up closing it out?

Does that ruin your entire jinks theory for the rest of your life? Then I'm taking the credit for it because I refused to let you jinks. you in either way. Well, let's say, regardless of what happens, bullpen-wise, right now,

they got only their fourth quality start of the year, and it wasn't exactly a, you know,

a gem of a start by Jason Marquis, but, you know, compared to what they've gotten, it was a

Cy Young caliber. It's, it's been, I can't even remember what the three previous quality

starts were. I mean, that's, certainly wasn't anything from Liriano. No. Pavano had to be good for one or two of them. Sforzak. Liam Hendrix left two weeks ago. His first start, right? Right, yeah. I'm sure he had one. I would look him up, but now I'm afraid to Google, because now I know that that jinx is everything. Yeah, you can't jakes the quality start, though. We've had the quality start. So, we're not safe. Yeah, that's true.

Here's Marquis' final line. This is, like, you know, one of the better starts, the Twins of Ed in 21 games. Six innings, six hits, no walks. I gave up the one home run. Three runs, all earned. No walks. He only threw 80 pitches. And he'd been stretched out. He had been stretched out further than that.
