Hey everybody, welcome to the Krebscast. I'm your host Charlie Barons. Today we've got our first

political guest on the show Mike Galger serves as US representative for Wisconsin's eighth district

right up there by Green Bay. Yeah, right in the crux on the hand where the thumb meets the first

finger you got it right there. If you're looking at Wisconsin as a hand map as I often do,

Mike is a Republican. Now I'm interviewing him and I just think it's important you know

that's going in. I'm interviewing Mike as a comedian and a person interested in politics.

I'm not interviewing him as you know a traditional journalist tasked with limiting their bias in

every way possible, but since I have a bias just as a person, I want to disclose that so you can

take it into account when listening. So here's sort of where I stand politically. I don't

consider myself a Republican or a Democrat. I think both parties have good ideas on various issues

and I think both parties lie to us, but I also don't believe they lie to us equally at all times.

And I'm cautious about you know the whole false equivalence thing. So where I stand with politics

today is I was not impressed with Trump because his lies seemed endless and they seemed petty.

And Trump embraced conspiracy theories from Obama's birth certificate to QAnon to the 2020 vote

being fraudulent. My bias is against being lied to by either party and it's also against you know

being controlled. And I think a lot of people can relate to this. I don't want the government

to control my life. I don't want big business to control my life. I think the government should

step in when a powerful person or entity is using its power against someone with significantly

less power. And I think we as a society should look out for the least of our brothers and sisters.

So that's sort of the lens. I'm going to be asking Mike questions and conversing with them.

Now did I do this interview perfectly? Absolutely not. There were things ghosting back that

you know I probably could have said differently or maybe pushed Mike more on. But what I like about
