probably the most important thing that you can hear as a Christian if you want to continue

growing in Jesus Christ. And that is the issue of offense. Somebody said there's two types of

people that are offended. There's those who are mistreated.

And then there's those who think they are mistreated, but actually they are not.

The most used word for offense in Matthew 187 is the word scandal on,

which actually means it's a trigger of a trap on which bait is placed.

When the animal touches the trigger to eat the bait, the trap springs shut and the animal is cut.

And so when it's used in a biblical context, what it simply means,

Scandalon indicates an enticement to conduct that will ruin the person in question.
