Hello, and welcome back to another episode of the Feminist Mormon Housewives podcast.

I'm your host, Lindsay, bringing you another episode in the Year of Polygamy series

where we take the entire year breaking down and trying to understand the practice of Mormon

plural marriage. And it's an issue that a lot of

people say that is not relevant to our day and age, but I would like to show in the series that

it is that this practice has shaped our doctrine, it has shaped our culture, it has shaped our

thinking, and it continues to do so. So I hope you'll stay with us the

entire series so you can learn and understand. And I'd also encourage you to not just take my word

for it. I'd encourage you to study. I've included books and some documents that I have used

to research this, but I'd also encourage anyone who is in Salt Lake City to go down to

the Church History Library request some microfilm reviewing of some of these documents. You can do

that. Just go right in the doors and go to the right, and you can view some of these documents yourself.

I think it's really important, especially in the LDS culture, where sources become a huge

issue of importance, where a lot of people think that if it's scandalous towards the church,

it's made up. It's really important that you look at these primary sources yourself,

if at all possible. And if not, by the books, see historians that have handled these documents firsthand. Todd Compton is one of them,

Brian Hales, anyone from the persistence of polygmy, Don Bradley, Kirk Foster, Devery Anderson,

Bergera, there's just all kinds of, there's, there are so many good books out there,

so I'd encourage you to do that. And if this is your first time tuning in, I would point you back to
