Summary

Did President Trump watch “Escape to Alcatraz” before declaring he’ll reopen a federal prison on the island in the San Francisco Bay? And is his affection for that older Hollywood the inspiration for his promise to tariff “foreign” films? Is California really the world’s fourth-largest economy? Is math really the source of California’s housing crisis? Why did Sacramento Dems insist on making teenagers vulnerable to sex trafficking? Bonus track! National Right to Work’s Mark Mix takes us inside California’s most notorious trade union. Music by Metalachi.

1:15.4

your conclusion. How does this reflect what's going on in California? Well, the intent of the

1:37.7

tailspin by announcing just some really incoherent tariff plans on over 70 countries that were not in any way matched to reciprocity,

1:47.9

which is what he had been saying for the last couple months. Oh, if they're tariffing us,

1:52.0

we're going to tariff them. I happen to believe that would be a very bad policy too,

1:56.7

but that was still at least what people were expecting and it has a certain aura of fairness to it.

2:03.9

And instead, he was going to be charging Switzerland significantly higher tariffs

2:08.4

than the rest of the European Union,

2:10.5

where Switzerland has virtually no tariffs on us,

2:13.7

and European Union has higher tariffs.
