So the incursion has begun. Putin has figured that just as the world sat back and allowed the Russian invasion of Crimea to occur with no consequences,

why should it be any different with an invasion into eastern Ukraine?

One thing that feels different, at least at this early stage, is that Moscow is not fooling anyone.

When Putin indicated he was pulling back forces in order to let negotiations work, no one,

not the least of which the President of the United States,

was buying it. Joe Biden may still be smarting over the way he handled the Afghanistan pullout,

but he's getting high marks from many places over how he has been calling Putin out every step of

the way. He's going to have to follow up, of course, and the milk-toe sanctions response

is not going to cut it. Not everyone is backing Biden and opposing Putin, to no surprise.

So Putin is now saying it's independent, a large section of Ukraine. I said, how smart is that?

And he's going to go in and be a peacekeeper.

That's the strongest peace force. We could use that on our southern border. That's the strongest

peace force I've ever seen. They were more army tanks than I've ever seen. They're going to

keep peace all right. No, but think of it. Here's a guy who's very savvy. I know him very well.
