Hello to our dope village. I am Julie Fowdy. Alongside as always,

Linda Zowie. Hi, Lynn. Hi, Julie. Lynn and I have had a lot of conversations about our

podcast and how we can do better in light of the protests happening right now against racial

injustice and police brutality against the black community. And in talking together,

we pretty quickly realize that while we've interviewed numerous black female athletes,

we rarely spoke with them about race. And that is something we want to change going forward.

And we want to start that change right now. So I reached out to two amazing women who have

been on the podcast before. Crystal Dunn and Jessica McDonald about coming back on to talk to us

about race specifically and their experiences with racism and what it's like living as a black

woman in this country, both responded not surprisingly right away saying, of course, we're all

in. Crystal Dunn is a World Cup champion with the 2019 US team a two time NWSL champion

with her North Carolina Courage team and a national champion as well when she played at the

University of North Carolina. Jessica McDonald is also a World Cup champion with the 2019 US team,

a three time NWSL champion twice with the North Carolina Courage alongside Crystal and a

championship with Western New York before that. And also a national champion at the University of
