to begin the conversation on a massive franchise and this is our first time doing this. We're doing a two-part

or as we talked about in our last episode. So in this episode we will be talking

about alien and

the June episode we will be talking about alien three and alien

resurrection but we have so much to get through there is so much talk about. We have pages and pages of notes and

one bottle of wine, so we're going to see what we can do with this.

That's right, this is a franchise that is so big that it actually held us off doing it for a while.

There's been a couple of times where listeners have been like,

why are you going to tackle Nightmare on Elm Street?

And I feel like this is kind of the same thing

where it's just so massive that we'd have to break it off into pieces and examine it piece by piece,

but we're ready and we're going to take it on and as it turns out, we're actually just a little bit late for the national alien holiday.

You are all probably aware that earlier in April was alien day.

An alien day's date was actually derived from the planetoid that this all started out on on

alien and the holiday while pretty transparently a marketing scheme was wrought

with a little bit of controversy, wasn't it?

Yes, if 20th century Fox can squeeze any more money out of this franchise, they will do it.

That's what I think has been shown time and again and so it's Reebok I believe the

Sneaker company that Ripley wears one of their designs or one of the shoes in aliens

...
