all right good morning what's going on welcome to cannell and bell on this september 11

uh one of the uh tragic days in our history just wanted to give a quick um just a note of

remembrance to the people that lost their lives, the volunteers, the servicemen that

came in to try to provide help that were in the search, we're in the rescue, just a devastating

day in our history, really a shifting point for us as a country.

When you look at just the way things change, there's pre-9-11, there's post-9-11,

but it's always one that you

don't ever want to forget the impact that it had on so many people's lives, over 3,000 lives

that were lost. Where were you? You know, I was in New York City. I was playing minor

league baseball in Newark, New Jersey. I was living at my agent's apartment in Manhattan

on the Upper East Side, and I'll never forget because, like, New Jersey. I was living at my agent's apartment in Manhattan on the Upper East Side.

And I'll never forget because, like, my schedule at the time was I woke up around 11.

Right.

Because we played till late at night, you should go out a little bit after.

And I was asleep.

And my agent, who was actually there, he would kind of come and go.

He actually knocked on the door and said, hey, you've got to come watch this. And so the first plane had hit. So he had it on the news and we're watching it like,

holy cow, this is crazy. And then when the second plane hit and they started saying, this is an attack,

it was like total chaos. All of a sudden people outside, there's gridlock. People are leaving

their cars to walk out because they just wanted to get out of the city.

F-16 fighter jets are flying over us.

Cell phones are jammed because everybody's trying to call their loved ones.
