Summary

http://www.tropicalmba.com/hiremymom/ Dan and Ian know that all entrepreneurs struggle with hiring, and specifically hiring remote workers.

One thing that they have learned over the years, through listeners of this podcast and members of the Dynamite Circle, is that stay-at-home moms tend to make model team members. On this week's episode, you'll hear the stories of three women.

Kiri Masters is the founder of Bobsled Marketing. She shares some of her experiences finding great team members, and why that strategy revolves around stay-at-home parents.

Louise Gray is one one of Kiri's remote employees. She had a very successful corporate career at Sony, before having a baby and reconsidering how she approaches work.

Lesley Pyle is the founder of HireMyMom, a well-established agency that places stay-at-home parents at companies around the world.

Today's show, we're going to talk about something that I think we all struggle with, and that is hiring, specifically hiring remote workers.

One of the themes I picked up on, both amongst listeners of the TMBA podcast and also members of our

0:51.6

community, the DC, is that stay-at-home parents, often moms,

0:56.0

make great team members. And I kind of wondered, why is this? Yeah, I think that there are some really good

1:02.8

business reasons to hire moms. And one of them is that I just found that moms are, this is all

1:10.3

generalizations, but generally very

1:12.4

organized and know how to prioritize things. It was something that I even observed in the corporate

1:17.9

workplace was that the mums came in, they got their stuff done and they were just laser

1:24.3

focus because they wanted to come in at nine and leave at five. And so they didn't waste

1:28.4

time mucking around or, you know, getting distracted. That's one good reason. And then I guess another

1:34.7

good reason that I've personally experienced is that if you have a service or a product that's

1:40.3

anything consumer related, the stats change over time, but moms are responsible for

1:47.0

two-thirds of household purchasing decisions. So for me, as someone that runs an agency trying

1:53.2

to sell to represent brands on Amazon, it's really helpful to have people representing those

2:00.0

brands who would generally buy those products themselves.

2:03.8

That was Kiri Masters. Some of you might recognize her because she's been on the show before.

2:09.4

She is also the founder of Bob Sled Marketing. And in today's show, Keri is going to share with us some of

2:15.1

her experiences finding and keeping great team members
