One of Italy's most notorious serial killers was known as the Monster of Florence. The case inspired the 1999 book by Thomas Harris, Hannibal. The book was then adapted into the 2001 film of the same name.

In 1999, Thomas Harris's book, Hannibal was published. Now, Hannibal, of course, is the sequel to his massively popular 1988 novel, Silence of the Lambs. Both books were turned into movies. Silence of the Lambs was released in 1991 and Hannibal in 2001. Did you see Hannibal? Yes. Did you like it? Um, yeah, I liked it. Well, I'm not saying it's a great movie, but I enjoyed it. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was really scary. I know it was critically. I like all of the Hannibal Lecter movies. Me too. So I'm just a fan. I'm a fan of all of them from... And I've read all the books, too. Oh. Yeah. I've only read Silence of the Lambs. Yeah, I like the books. They're really easy reads. I mean, outside of the horrific content. They're fast reads. They're fast reads. And yeah, I've seen all the movies more than once. I really enjoy this series. I love this universe. Me too. I love the movie Manhunter.

series of films is I'm into all of the villains. The actors playing the villains are always incredible. Yeah. And they're just going to make me like the movie. Like Gary Oldman, Reef finds Anthony Hopkins, obviously, and then Brian Cox. Right. I mean, it's just like, of course it's going to be amazing. Yeah, it's just an interesting world. I agree. I love it. I totally love it. I loved going to Florence too in Hannibal. Oh, I know. I love seeing it. I know. I thought, because the city, not to sound like an asshole, but the city definitely, like, played a character.
