This go around, I'd like to recommend the duel by John Lucas.

It's a day-to-day account at the Battle of Britain when Churchill was pitted against Hitler.

Hitler was so close to victory and Churchill was so close to defeat, but he pulled it out.

Before it goes into the day-to-day accounts, it gives a very good background of the two

leaders, other countries and how they had prepared for the war that they knew was coming.

So it's very well written.

I know people like to hear a good story and they want the facts and the information, but

he really has a way with words and it really made a difference in enjoying the story.

Or if you're in the mood for something a little different, check out Herman Wook's The

Winds of War.

That's on there as well and that's a really good story.

I read it a long time ago and I remember enjoying it and the idea of him and it read to

me by a professional reader is quite appealing.
