Welcome back to the truth with Lisa Booth education. That's the topic this week.

You know, we all witnessed how education came to the forefront of the Virginia

gubernatorial race between Democrat Terry McCallif and Glenn Youngkin.

And ironically, education is an issue that both launched and ended Terry McCallif's candidacy.

McCallif launched his campaign outside of an elementary school in Richmond, Virginia,

last December. In September, education voters actually favored him by 33 points.

However, that all changed when this happened during one of the debates.

I'm not going to let parents come into schools and actually take full child make their own decision.

You've been told it. So yeah, I've just stopped the bill that I don't think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.

Ooh, ooh. So that right there, that's what ended his campaign.

So you go from September to November and there was a 42 point swing on the issue of education for voters that,

you know, this was the issue. That was their issue.

So they 42 points swing from supporting Terry McCallif by 33 points in September to heading into

the election. They favored Youngkin by nine points in politics. My friends 42 points is insane.

But what Youngkin did was he let parents first revolution and he rode that wave to victory.

You will get exit pulling almost a quarter of voters said education was the most important issue to them.

A majority of those voters picked Glenn Youngkin exit pulling also found that voters who believe

parents should have a lot of say what their children were being taught overwhelmingly went for Youngkin.

77% to 22%. So what was behind this parents led revolution?
