Summary
We leave the AT behind today for a trip to Sweden and the Kungsleden, a trail that I'd never heard of before. Bob Delaney, or Jon's Dad, has a history with Sweden and returned there to hike this lesser known trail. He was so enamored by the trail that he's started a YouTube channel, a blog, and written a book about it.

You can reach out to Bob directly at JonsDadHikes@gmail.com. He'll be happy to hear from you and will try to help you if you consider hiking this Swedish trail.

You can also find Bob on YouTube at http://YouTube.com/@JonsDadHikes, his blog is at http://TrailJournals.com/journal/25339, while his recently completed book is on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C1DJ4BHP/ref=nodl_?ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_dp_FTX05JTC6NC28FBH69WY&dplnkId=c87bba3c-7148-493a-8d1d-e91e35e1fd7f.

In our Mighty Blue Class of 23, Chuck Faulkinberry had to leave the trail when we last spoke, but he's back today with positive news about his injury and his prospects going forward.
Also, Nancy Farrell has had to postpone her hike due to a family illness, but she, too, has good news about her hike.

| 0:00.0 | You are listening to the Hiking Radio Network, where we talk guests every week as he staggers from Georgia to Maine. |
| 0:33.3 | Hi guys, unusually for me, I'm writing from a wet, cool Florida. You found my podcast, Mighty Blue in the Appalachian Trail, and I'm your host, Mighty Blue, known otherwise as Steve Adams. This is episode number 369 of the podcast, and as we like to do from time to time, our guest today is going to be telling us about not the Appletian Trail, but the Kungs-Laden in Sweden. |
| 0:55.5 | His name is Bob Delaney, though he goes, somewhat charmingly, by the name of John's Dad. Bob wrote to me a while back, and I've been trying to fit our conversation into the schedule for a couple of months, especially because I wanted to include the link to the book that he's written about the trial. I got that a week or so back and that will be in the show notes. John's dad will be on shortly. Of course, for us 80 junkies, we still have a couple of catch-up interviews with our Mighty Blue Class of 2023 with most of our team on the way. This week we heard from Chuck Falkenbury, who, if you recall, injured himself and had to go home after he finished the smokies. |
| 1:30.4 | Spoiler alert, he's back out there, still heading north. Chuck will be on after Bob. |
| 1:35.3 | Then one of our class members who hasn't started yet, Nancy Farrow's boyfriend was at a health scare, |
| 1:40.7 | so we called up to check on the status of both him and her hike. We'll hear from |
| 1:45.6 | Nancy after Chuck. And because several of you have emailed me to ask, I thought you might like to |
| 1:50.8 | know my hiking plans in the coming months and excitingly next year. So I'll recap those between |
| 1:56.6 | Chuck and Nancy. Hmm, Chuck and Nancy. Where have I heard that before? |
| 2:02.4 | Then in our reading today, after he's returned home to Connecticut, George Staphanos gets back on |
| 2:07.4 | trail, trying to get his rhythm back as he heads north. So let's do it. Here's Bob Delaney or |
| 2:13.1 | John's dad. Oh and by the way, we recorded this while the football season was still going on. |
| 2:18.2 | So you're going to have to ignore the Packers and Jets references, neither of which improved much. |
| 2:23.7 | Here's Bob. |
| 2:27.3 | Our guest today reached out to me a few weeks ago to tell me about a trail that he'd hiked in Sweden. |
| 2:33.2 | So I invited him on the show to share his story. |
| 2:35.7 | This is Bob Delaney or John's dad. |
| 2:39.4 | Hey, Bob, how are you? |
| 2:40.7 | Super great. |
| 2:42.0 | Super great. |
| 2:42.7 | That's not a bad thing, is it? |
| 2:44.0 | No. |
