Summary

http://www.tropicalmba.com/sarahk/ Back in 2012, Dan and Ian hosted a two week seminar that was attended by 44 listeners of this show, and Sarah Kornblet was one of those people. Since attending that seminar, Sarah has become a very successful attorney for online entrepreneurs.

This week's episode is really the story of what has happened in Sarah's life since that seminar. It is also the story of an idea, because every business starts with an idea.

Sometimes we aren't ready for those ideas, or those ideas aren't ready for us.

I think it's important to do a little TMBA history lesson.. We got to roll back the clocks way back to episode 106. This is back in a time when Ian and I were still primarily focused on our e-commerce business. And we were sort of just kicking around ideas on the show like, well, what could we do to do more for our listeners? And we literally just kind of brainstormed it out.

1:46.8

Well, I think it's important to meet people and I think it's important to like work with people for an extended amount of time. So what if we like got together for two weeks and got on Skype with them before they met us and helped them brainstorm what they wanted to work on for two weeks? And, you know, we're kicking around this idea on the show. And literally I'm like, okay, boss, man, how much you think it should cost? And he kicked out a price and I'm like,

1:52.8

all right, let's do it. And it turns out that 44 listeners of this show that joined us for a two week seminar in the Philippines way back in 2012. And Sarah was one of those people. So today's show is really the story of what happened between

2:04.0

those seminars and today when Sarah's business has taken off. And for me, it's really the story of

2:10.4

an idea because businesses start with ideas. And we talk about that a lot on the show. Like,

2:15.8

yeah, here's a business idea. Why don't you go start a business with that? The problem with the beautiful simplicity of that is

2:21.2

sometimes we're not ready for those ideas or those ideas aren't ready for us. And the process

2:27.4

of sorting through all that can take years. And it really often does for many of us.
