that you can do in the open position on guitar.

First, you're going to want to mute the E, low E and A strings. However

you want to do it is fine. I tend to wrap my thumb around, but just as long as

those strings aren't ringing out, should be okay.

And then we're going to start with the D string.

You can just let that one ring open, just like that.

That's obviously going to be the root of our chord. So we have the D, and then the next with your first finger on the second fret of the G string you're going to play an A.

That's the fifth of the chord.

And then there's going to be another D up here on the third fret of the B string.

That's obviously another D, it's a root, but it's an octave higher.

And then here comes the magic. You remember from last time, folks.

The third of the chord is where the magic happens, and this is where we determine a major or minor tonality.

So in this case, we're going to put a major third on. That will be the second fret of this e-string. It going to be an f-sharp and when we put the
