I'm Brian Moore and this week we have a special episode as I sat down with RFU's former director

of rugby Rob Andrew in Telegraph. We discussed his new book, Rugby, The Game of My Life,

some nostalgia on our playing days as well as looking back at what was an explosive weekend

of international rugby action. You really didn't have to do that. Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to an evening with Rob Andrew.

I'm going to ask Rob odd questions and some decent ones probably as well.

Rob, let's not beat about the bush.

I didn't expect you to.

Some people, I'm not one of them, have said that this is one long justification of how you're not to blame for anything that went wrong in the last ten years.

They wouldn't be from the Sunday Times, would they?

Oddly enough, well, the leading voice in that is from the Sunday Times.

Surprise, surprise.

Well, we'll undoubtedly touch on that bit.

But what do you say to the general tenor of that?

No, look, I don't think, I've admitted in there things that went wrong with the union, mistakes that I was involved in, the challenges that I had in the role.

I think that was one of the big things was the challenges that I had.

I mean, part of this, the reason for the book is really a story of professionalism and the challenges.

So it's really about 95 onwards.

It's not about the period we played before that.
