That was the first thought that surfaced when Gregory finally came to.

Not just the stench of mold and decay that permeated the air around him, but the insidious

thought of how easy it would be to simply lie here and let himself waste away.

Gregory had never been one to shy away from a challenge.

In fact, he thrived on games that pushed him to his limits.

But this wasn't an exhilarating arcade shooter or a lively pinball cabinet.

In a single harrowing night, he had been hunted, manhandled,

knocked unconscious, cut, bruised, and left reeling in a nightmare that defied all logic.

Injuries at the Mega Pizzaplex were nothing new. Countless people had met grim fates within

the fortified walls of Fazbear Entertainment's

sprawling domain, a monolith of garish lights, clattering arcades, and feckless distractions,

all served with a side of gluttonous food, scarcely more real than its animatronic mascots.

Strange.

Gregory couldn't tell if it was the repeated blows to his head or the hazy, disoriented state from being buried under a mound of refuse, but fragments of memory seemed to surface,

ghostly and unbidden.
