So hey, Dr. Place, let me just, in case you don't know, the reason I reached out to you is because you may not know much about Zach and I, but we're kind of in this low-carb space. We're kind of promoting some of the health stuff, and we've got a pretty big audience right now. And one of the things, you know, I do is, you know, I'm a big

1:27.9

proponent of red meat. I eat a lot of it. In fact, that's pretty much all I eat. I'm kind of this

1:31.3

crazy carnivore guy. But, you know, one of the argument, you know, and I think we're making a more and more compelling argument that beef is not something horrible that we need to avoid. it's actually health food.

1:24.9

And I think that's, I think we're really making some traction there.

1:27.4

But one of the problems we often run into is, you know, well, it's awful for the environment. It's killing the world. It's destroying the planet. And I can't really speak to that because I'm not an expert. You know, I could, I could read what I've read, but I'm not really there. And so when I was and I have a lot of cattle ranchers that follow me because they like what

2:01.2

I'm saying, right? And so I was asking, you know, where can I get some help with it? And several of them said, you need to talk to Dr. Sarah Place. She's, she knows what she's talking about. So that's why I reached out. And I really appreciate your, your willingness to come on and talk to us about this stuff and you, you know, I think there's one of the problems we have is, you know, where do I get my

2:23.3

information about cattle in the environment or animal agriculture and environment in general?

2:27.3

And generally, it's coming from a vegan propaganda film.

2:29.8

And I think this has become the sort of the national narrative or the, you know, the social

2:35.4

conscious.

3:27.7

And I think, you know, maybe there's some truth to that, but I think there's, like anything, there's gray areas, there's black, there's white. And I just think we've all kind of hook, line, and sinker taking, taking this. We've got to give up meat. It's the best thing we can do to save the planet. and I just, I'm not sure that's the right answer. So hopefully you can maybe help teach us a little bit about this stuff. Because I try to tell the people that if you're going to advocate meat or chicken or whatever animal products in the diet, it's great that you understand the health arguments, but you also are going to need to be more educated and well-versed in some of these environmental issues. And hopefully you can kind of, you know, tell us about that. And so I know, and I want to be clear, I know, because you have a relationship with the National Cattlemen's Association, I believe, and I think it's important to we disclose who we're talking to and all that stuff, because there's going to people that are going to say well there's biases in that but can you just briefly tell us a little bit about your background after the place and then we can get into some of this stuff

3:30.7

yeah yeah so I do work for the National Caledans Beath Association and so a little bit of
