Summary
On today's episode of Barstool Bench Mob, Rico, Marty, and Jake recap a wild first round of the NCAA Tournament. We start in the West Region where Virginia officially ended it's courtship with Rico losing to 13-seed Ohio. Creighton barely escaped an upset bid from UCSB. How far can the Blue Jays go? And unfortunately we have our first COVID-related no-contest allowing Oregon to move on after VCU was forced to bow out. (02:31) Onto the South Region where Ohio State was stunned by Oral Roberts and North Texas topped Purdue further confirming Marty's Big Ten take. Plus - the bet has been set. A second round matchup between Arkansas and Texas Tech will determine whether Marty will take a difficult math test or Rico will be read the Berenstain Bears 47 times. (10:50) Moving to the Midwest Region - three double digit seeds advance to the round of 32. 12 seed Oregon State beat down Tennessee to continue their late-season run. But are they really a threat to Cade Cunningham and Oklahoma State? And we have an intra-state matchup between 1-seed Illinois and 8-seed Loyola-Chicago. On the bottom of the region, Jake's Orange dominated San Diego State setting up an old-school Big East battle with West Virginia. Plus - does Rutgers have a chance against Houston? (21:57) And finally to the East Region where Alabama has a very clear path to the Elite Eight after 3 double-digit seeds advanced to Monday. UConn disappointed against Maryland, UCLA took down BYU and Abilene-Christian shocked Texas. (28:44) Don't forget to subscribe, rate, and review Barstool Bench Mob.
