We're a couple of missionaries in Acts 29. This is the podcast where we talk about how acquiring a biblical worldview brings us great hope.

The God who created and rescued this world in order that we can be agents of transformation and recreation. Mary, got your shopping done? Oh, gosh, don't even go there. Second Sunday of Advent's coming up. Come on, you're supposed to be done. Let me just tell you, I have lists. I'm working on it. I'm working on it. There you go. I'm working on it. How about you? You know what? No, not a chance. Not even close. But I love the season of Advent, and I see that

jokingly to you because I know you and I both try to encourage people over and over again to understand

Advent's not about shopping, although it's great to give gifts because it's how we express our love

for those that matter in our lives.

But it's about preparing not just for the celebration of Christmas,

but getting our hearts ready for the Lord's return, whether that's at the end of our life

or when he comes back in glory, whichever one comes first.

Amen. Father, we do thank you for everything we have. We thank you for our lives. We thank you for

faith. We thank you for your son, Jesus, and all that he has accomplished for us by his life

and death and resurrection, his ascension to your right hand, where even now he reigns in

glory. Lord, we ask that you would arouse within us a desire for his return. Help us to look

forward for that day, whenever it might be at the end of our lives or this week, perhaps, who knows,

when he will come back in power and glory and make all things new and in the meantime.

Teach us how to pray, teach us how to live, help us to know the mission that has been
