Summary

There are two parallel tracks that run through just about everything we do: Love and Truth, or put another way–Love and Structure–or yet another Love and Limits. To get the good out of something we need to apply a structure, a method, a limit, but we need to do it lovingly. This applies broadly in life. Not just in how we treat others, but also in how we talk to ourselves. When you fail at something, do you give yourself feedback with love? Probably not. That’s the big divide. Get Love and Limits to be better friends and your life will be better. Start with yourself and you'll see how it pours into your relationships.

We have an upcoming workshop called Getting Over Trauma on August 30th at 5pm Pacific! Dr. Cloud will help you identify your traumatic injuries, and walk you through the steps necessary to get back to healthy functioning. If you can't attend live, don't worry, you can stream the recording as much as you like. To find out more about it go to https://Boundaries.me/trauma.

Hey everyone, welcome back to the podcast. This is Albi. I'm the producer of the Dr. Cloud Show.

0:13.4

Thanks so much for joining us. When looking through the archive of different topics to go into today,

0:18.1

I stumbled upon this one. It's a little bit tricky to describe it in words.

0:22.3

I'm going to let Dr. Cloud go into it, but we're calling it the big divide. And it's the big

0:26.7

divide between love and truth or structure or limits, essentially the way that we apply through

0:34.2

technique, anything. That could be language. So it could be the divide between love and

0:38.5

language. And what Dr. Claude goes into here is not only how this affects our relationships,

0:45.1

but how much it affects the way we talk to ourselves, how we think about our defeats and our

0:49.8

failures. And it's the importance of getting rid of this big divide, bringing love back into

0:57.2

the technique, the limit, the structure behind everything that we're doing that is so important

1:04.1

for bringing the good out of life again. I'm going to let Dr. Cloud go into it here,

1:09.8

but I think you get the idea.

1:11.8

It's a pretty powerful topic, and I hope all of you find it as interesting as we did putting it together.

1:18.4

And while we have you here for a second, I wanted to take a moment to talk about BoundaryStot me.

1:23.0

That's Dr. Cloud's coaching platform, where he goes into over 100 different topics with video courses,

1:30.7

there's daily coaching videos, an online supportive community, and a whole lot more.

1:36.5

It's worth checking out if you haven't seen it yet, and it's on a 14-day free trial.

1:41.4

Just go to Boundaries.me to start that trial, or you can click the link in the

description of the podcast. And that's it for my interruption. Here's Dr. Cloud. And let's hop into

1:54.1

the thought for today. I'm calling it the big divide, and it's something that is so simple.

2:05.8

And yet, so, and I don't mean this in a weird way, but so profound that it literally almost explains every situation that we deal with in life in a certain kind of way.

2:28.3

And that's a complicated statement.
