| 0:35.6 | I don't know what version we're talking about here. I guess it's the... This is a lot of pressure to come up with a new, extraordinarily clever off the cuff. I will. I will. What about the middle finger edition? Because we still haven't gotten anything, any kind of news? No, because Irvin Santana broke. Oh, that's the best middle finger. Right. I thought it works either way right i thought you darvish was giving us the middle |
| 0:55.8 | finger well works either way he's giving all of the teams we are coming to you from modest |
| 1:01.1 | modest brewing uh which is close to target field and it's sponsored by bombfeld we'll talk a little bit |
| 1:07.9 | about bombfeld.com slash gleeman where you can get $25 off your first order from Bomfell and how they make me look good. We have a little bit of Twins news. Not much, and it's bad news, which... It's funny, this time of the... I don't even want to call it the offseason now. It doesn't bode particularly well for the season. Like it's a bad omen in that way. Right. And it's like once you get to February, it's really not the off season anymore. Spring training starts in like four days. Yeah. Next week. I mean, this upcoming week is spring training for all teams. The 13th is when pitchers and caduce is report for the twins. The first workout, I think, is the 14th. Yeah. |
| 2:34.6 | So, I mean, like, we're at the start of spring training, basically. Once you get to this point in the offseason or the spring, whatever you want to call it, the news is typically either very minor, which is, you know, so-and-so, beat out so-and-so for the seventh-ending job or something like that, Or it's positive, which is we signed Udarvish or the twins signed Alex Cobb or something like that. Rarely is it somebody, one of the best players on the team got hurt before they even showed up. Well, no, before you show up, you're right. But we did talk, what, a week and a half? Well, last episode, I think. We talked about how guys start showing up for spring training. Right. And suddenly, or they start throwing again. And suddenly it's like, oh, what's that twinge I feel in my shoulder or, you know, something like that. Or in my middle finger. Or in this case, my middle finger doesn't feel any better than I did five months ago when I was serving up Frisbee's to the Yankees. Yeah, so they announced that Irvin Santana needs to have surgery on the middle finger of his pitching hand. I think they announced he already did have surgery. Right, yeah. He underwent the surgery, and it's 10 to 12 weeks, they think, from the point of the surgery. Right. Now, the good news is it's February. So half of that recovery timetable will be spent prior to opening day or more than half. Yeah, right. The bad news is it's not December. Right. So not all of it will. And I think even in the best case scenario, the problem is going to come with, let's say, even he hits 10 weeks, |
| 3:09.4 | which is no sure thing. |
| 3:11.3 | So I know on Twinsfest, they do their physicals on Twinsfest. |
| 3:16.0 | Is this a matter of him, them recognizing this on Twinsfest? |
| 3:19.0 | I thought they said he either went to Fort Myers or started throwing somewhere. Okay. |
| 3:25.4 | And discovered it. |
| 3:31.3 | But yeah, you're right that we were in fact there one time when they were setting people up for physicals. |
| 3:31.7 | Right. |
| 3:34.5 | At the metro, because everyone's in town at the same time. |
