My main source for this series has been the book Escape from Alcatraz by

J. Campbell Bruce. And I did use some other newspaper sources for this episode. Let's just

get into it. Where we last left off, frankly Morris has just

soldered the metal file of his toenail clippers to the handle of a spoon so he could make a more

effective instrument to chip away at the concrete around the air vent in his cell.

Now, remember, he did that with shavings from a dime.
