While it serves as a hot spot for summer fun, Lake Lanier has earned its deadly reputation

as a haunted or even cursed place in northern Georgia, claiming hundreds of lives since its opening.

As the lake attracts more and more visitors each year, will the deaths surrounding it ever cease?

Well, that's a long time. I feel like that's a

pretty big sample size. Someone said having, Jacqueline said, having lived in the area from age

nine plus, swimming in it is fine if you don't mind coming across dead bodies or getting a

flesh-eating bacteria. I mind both of those things, so I'm not going to do it. I was like, no, thank you.

But yes, several people say I'm a native. I stay far away. There are plenty of other fun lakes in

Georgia that do not come with the sad history and scary lore, said howdy 10. That's what I'm saying.

Like, you want to go boating and swimming in a lake. Cool. But you could find one that there's not like a high

percentage of deaths that have occurred there. Exactly. Several people had said I went swimming there
