From the Jill Schwartz Memorial Library here in the wild of Connecticut,

this is obscure, the podcast in which I read Jude the Obscure out loud and comment on it as I go.

It is a brisk winter day here in the wilds of Connecticut, my little shitty dog, Jack Jack

has affixed himself to the lip of the throne, the reading throne here in the Jill Schwartz Memorial Library.

He is displayed out. He's wearing his Christmas sweater. It is not a Christmas themed sweater, but it is a sweater he received for Christmas. He did not ask for the sweater to be put on today, nor did I have the inclination to put the sweater on the dog because frankly if

he freezes to death that would be a blessing for me. But my dear Martha, upon my stating that I'm going to take the dogs for a hike,

said, well, why don't you put on his sweater?

And then I tried to put on the sweater, and he started yelping unhappily and it apparently why wasn't putting it on correctly because I don't know how to put on dog clothing and then Martha said you're putting it on backwards so she put it on and then

we went out for a walk and now we're back in the library and he is as I said

displayed comfortably on the throne.

It is a brisk day, it is cold here.

I have returned from Las Vegas, Nevada,

where I had a terrific time with my friends of Loeb these many years and maybe you're saying

Michael what what did you do when you were in Las Vegas did you go to Penn and Taylor

did you have Chinese food?

Did you hang out? I did all those things. But more than that and more importantly, I played

poker. I played a fair amount of poker and held my own against the Las Vegas habituays of the

poker broom at the Wynne Casino and it occurred to me that maybe I should start a poker

podcast in addition to obscure because I spend a lot of time lately thinking

about poker, reading about poker, studying poker, and yet I am bad at

poker.
