And I'm Andrea. And this is Inhuman a true crime podcast. Oh, Welcome back everybody happy day. Today I'm just going to get right into it because this is a case that a lot of you have

honestly probably heard of and I actually covered this case on our podcast

like two and a half years ago. It was while Andrea was on maternity leave and I

actually had my husband be the like guest for it and the audio was so bad and it just wasn't like one of our best episodes so I decided to

re-do this episode but also we just passed the 12 year anniversary of this murder and there's

been some more like new report. One of the perpetrators applied for parole recently and when we covered the

episode that hadn't happened yet or when we covered the case originally. So I wanted to like

redo this one and then also includes some more recent updates.

So with that, this is the murder of Skyler Nice.

Skyler Annette Nice was born on February 10th, 1996 to Mary and Dave Niece.

Mary worked as an administrative assistant in a cardiac lab and Dave was a product assembler at Walmart.

The family lived in Star City, West Virginia and Skyler attended University High School.

She was really smart. She was an honor student. She loved to read and she had dreams of becoming a criminal defense lawyer when she graduated, which is just like, that is amazing that she was so young and she was like already like wanting to be a criminal defense lawyer.
