On this episode of Newt's World I am really excited. My favorite restaurant in the entire world

and I've had a chance to sample a lot all over the place is La Baix-Chef Francois in Great Falls, Virginia.

The ambiance, the staff, the food are just extraordinary and every time Cliston and I go out there

we are once again reminded what an amazing place it is and one of the keys to it's being so amazing

is our guest today, chef Jacques Harringer, the executive chef and the owner.

La Baix-Chef Francois is a legendary place.

Chef Francois of course was his father, Francois and Jacques himself is added to it by creating

a restaurant inside the restaurant that we'll get him to talk about a little bit.

We're going to talk a little bit about Thanksgiving but first I can't have chef Jacques Harringer

here without having him tell you the amazing story about his father and how they first

opened Chef Francois which is an authentic outstation restaurant, it's not just French it's outstation

and they're very clear about this. They first opened it near the White House in Washington in 1954

and then it ultimately goes out to Great Falls at a time when Great Falls was the wilderness.

So Jacques as you know I think of you as a very dear friend and share with us for a couple minutes

your father's journey. Certainly my parents came in 47, dad was in the French army but after

the war he and my mother came over and he worked because his uncle, my great uncle Jacques
