You also know him for his expertise on a range of topics including addiction, stress,

and childhood development, and it is my real pleasure to finally get to talk to him,

not quite in the flesh, but virtually today.

It's so nice to be with you as well. Look, it's a tough time. I feel like I have to

preference every conversation that we've been having recently since October 7th with an

acknowledgement of how weighty this conversation has been especially on people

like yourselves who have been called upon to speak almost exclusively about this subject in recent

weeks.

I just wanted to give you first and foremost an opportunity to weigh in

more broadly on how you're feeling right now about the media coverage of what's

happened since October 7th. The kind of shifts, I think, in public understanding

that have happened, some for the better but

certainly no big battles have been won outright. The various intergroup battles that are going

on as people are searching to define what it means to be in

solidarity with Palestinians as particularly as a Jewish person etc I just want to

give you the floor. Thank you. Well I'll be about to celebrate my 80th birthday in less than a month.
