Hello, everyone, and welcome back to the podcast. Today's episode is episode 33.

Uh-oh. I feel an introductory wander coming on. Do you remember when movie theaters were the rage?

I mean really the rage. You know, they are struggling now,

and I assume all over and particularly, you know, here in the States, especially after COVID.

But there was a day when they rained. I grew up in the 60s and the 70s as television was really

beginning to take hold. And for the movie theaters, this was an era of decline.

You know, the period where the first major set of convulsions, so to speak,

were taking place in the movie house industry.

Convulsions that occur as the body begins to reach the end of the line

and slowly prepares for expiration.

Okay, that was a little dramatic.

Let's just say they were past their prime.

But these movie houses were still capable of occasionally getting it on, so to speak.

Instead of being packed every week with whatever was playing,

or even just the movie tone newsreels that used to run in that

same bygone era. By the way, can you believe that? The movies as a principal place to get your news.

Yeah, that was way before my time, but there was a time when that was the case. Boy, the content

business has really changed. Well, like I said, these places were not

packed anymore like how it was in the 30s, in the 40s, and probably even into the early 50s.

And by the 60s and the 70s, they would be like ghost towns for a good stretch. And then occasionally,
