Hi, I'm Renee Hunter Vasquez. Hi, I'm John Paul Vasquez. This week, we're

broadcasting live from the theater at Windsor College discussing the 1997 slasher film,

Scream 2. The film was written by Kevin Williamson and directed by the late, great West

Craven. Following the massive success of the first film, this film was rushed into production,

reuniting the main cast to once again go

toe to toe with the murderous ghost face. Aiming its satirical barbs at sequels and combining

elements of horror and mystery, this film is a worthy follow-up to the film that came before it

and is widely considered one of the best sequels in the genre. So, Scream 2. What were your first impressions on the film?

I've always loved this movie ever since I was a kid and it came out and it's like, oh,

like your friends are back, but it's a new setting, you know what I mean? Admittedly, it's not as good

as the first movie, but it's a lot of fun. And I do think it's a really strong sequel.

And John Paul's already making faces.

It's something.

I remember watching it, and I'm not going to lie,

I can't remember if I liked it or not.

But watching it now, I was like, geez, what the hell?

Like in what way?

It wasn't so good to me.

Like, I mean, it wasn't that it was all bad, but it was a lot of like, what the fuck is going on?

You know, just like, I was was like what the hell is this was

like what like jumbled or um I guess like a serious scary movie like that's what it is right
