Summary

This week I’m talking to one of the most driven and successful women I know, Jessica Zweig of Simply Be. A few weeks leading up to this interview, Jessica told me that she really wanted to “get real” during our interview. And that we did.

Jessica and I discuss exactly what we thought of each other the first time we met, the breakdown that led her to one the biggest decisions of her life, leaving her business and coping with a business divorce, finding love outside her “type”, and the best piece of advice her pops gave her on starting a business.

It's the one part podcast, episode 33.

0:18.5

Hey, it's Jessica Mernan.

0:20.5

It's the one part podcast, and I am bringing you lessons in next level inspiration.

0:26.1

So before we get to today's guest, I'm going to tell you a little bit about today's sponsor.

0:32.2

Sponsor.

0:33.7

What? Yeah, we've got a sponsor, our first sponsor on the show.

0:57.7

We don't need a stinking sponsor. Well, we kind of do. I'm actually at the point where I've grown this podcast that I can have sponsors. And I'm really proud of that and excited. And I want you to know right now, I'm holding up my hand. I've got my other hand on my garage band. I'm taking an oath to only bring you sponsors and brands and products that I

1:06.2

think are legit cool. And I use both, actually. So what is this cool product and one that I'm

1:16.0

using? It's podcasting school for women. So when I started this podcast, I literally watched a

1:25.4

whole bunch of weird YouTube videos that 16 year olds made about how to start a podcast.

1:31.1

And then I would go to equally weird garage band message boards about how to edit podcast.

1:38.0

And it was just kind of a mess.

1:40.0

And I really, really wish I would have had something like this that just had everything in one place.

1:46.8

So this is an online school.

1:49.0

It's got everything from how to use Libson, Garage Band, Skype, how to record them.

1:55.8

If you don't know even what you want your podcast to be about, it helps you figure that out too. It talks about how to

2:02.0

monetize it and even talks about how to grow your audience. I actually went into the school today

2:08.2

to kind of peek around and there's so much information. I was kind of expecting a couple modules,

2:16.2

but there's so many that I am actually really

2:19.5

excited to kind of dive in and relearn slash teach myself the proper way to do things because

2:26.4

sometimes I'm not so sure I'm doing this right. So if you want to know more about podcasting

2:31.9

School for Women, head over to jessica men.com or you can actually just head over to podcasting school for women.com. And I'll have to say that starting this podcast is dramatically, dramatically, I like being dramatic, has really dramatically changed my business and has given me so many new opportunities. And so even if you don't want to start a
