Hey there, podcast listeners, Patrick here. Before we get to today's episode with the amazing Martha Plimpton, we have sort of a big announcement. We are launching a Kickstarter campaign starting today. You may have noticed a little while back we took a few months off. A big part of that was trying to figure out a way to be able to afford to keep making our podcast. Creating the theater people podcast and producing it with Mike and Vanya has been one of

0:21.2

the greatest creative adventures of my life, and I hope to keep doing it forever. But our costs are

0:25.6

mounting. Between our startup costs and the cost of producing the show over the last 18 months,

0:30.4

I've already spent about $8,000. We estimate that our annual running costs going forward will be

0:35.5

about $5,000. All this money has come out of my pocket.

0:39.7

As valuable as I believe this podcast to be, it's unrealistic to think that I can continue to fund it on my own.

0:45.2

So I'm asking for your help, fellow theater people.

0:47.7

If you agree that there should be a show where the great theater people of our time,

the actors, writers, directors, musicians can tell their stories, share

0:55.0

their triumphs, the secrets to their success, the tales of how they overcame their fears and

0:59.1

insecurities. Please donate what you can to help us keep bringing these interviews to you.

1:03.8

We are not trying to make a profit. We just want to break even. $5,000 is what we need to raise

1:08.9

to bring this podcast to you for another year.

1:12.0

So let's do this together.

1:13.5

We'll do all the hard work.

1:14.9

You just donate what you can.
