radio detective carries a badge and the backing of Uncle Sam. He's Special Agent Jim

Taylor and his bead is the entire country on this is your FBI.

The show was the only one endorsed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and FBI Director

J. Edgar Hoover made an appearance on the first episode of the program back on April 6th 1945.

Hoover hailed the show as the finest dramatic program on the air and he opened the Bureau's files to producer and director Jerry Devine.

From 1945 until 1953, the series dramatized the exploits of FBI agents as they battled spies, swindlers, thieves,

and killers.

And for much of the show's run, the FBI was personified by Agent Jim Taylor.

Taylor was played by Stacy Harris, an actor we recently heard on the podcast as Batman.
