Yeah, and you got the world now just Selensky saying I desperately must have this money or where Ukraine is is toast in this war,

number one. And you've got the world looking and saying, man, Donald Trump gets elected president.

They're seeing these polls and the fact that Trump's, if the favorite neck with Joe Biden they're saying

first thing he's gonna do is dump out in NATO and the first people are gonna feel

that is gonna be a Vladimir's and Bolzky in the Ukraine.

Yeah it is a frightening moment.

And when you think about this optic of the president of Ukraine,

need to come to Washington to sort of prop up what ought to be the most obvious set of military support in the

modern history given how cost effective it is to take out Vladimir Putin it is

it is a sad moment and you oppose aid to Ukraine. Explain your position.

Well, so first of all, Jake, I think it's possible to have separate debates.

In fact, congressional Republicans tried to force an Israel alone aid package

just a couple of weeks ago that Democrats blocked in the Senate.

So we can't have separate debates. I think that we need to have

separate debates. But on the Ukraine's question in particular, everybody knows, everybody with

a brain in their head, Jake, knows that this was always going to end in negotiation. The idea that Ukraine was going to throw Russia back to the

1991 borders was preposterous. Nobody actually believed it. So what we're saying to the president

and really to the entire world is you need to articulate what

the ambition is.

What is 61 billion dollars going to accomplish that a hundred billion dollars hasn't?

We just remember Jake, Ukraine is functionally destroyed as a country.
