Summary

This week, we have the aptly named Tick Terminator, otherwise known as Brian Anderson. Brian has had a fascination with ticks–and how to terminate them–for over ten years. He has advised companies on how to deal with their outdoor employees, suggesting best practice to keep them from contracting Lyme and other diseases.

Today, he's offering advice to hikers and backpackers.
He does this in a fun, informative way, and I think we hit all the important points.

If you'd like to learn more, Brian's website is https://www.thetickterminator.com, while he can be found on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/lymetick/

We caught up with another two of our Mighty Blue Class of 22. This time, Dom Tammaro tells us of his rattle snake encounter AND his new trail name, while Joanne Birditt has eventually called a halt to her hike. Her smiling face on the show told me that it was the right decision.

Finally today, we have the Prologue of our new book. This was formerly a blog post, and I recently received permission to read it from George Steffanos, the writer. You can read more about George and his book at his website at https://georgesteffanos.webador.com/, as well as buy his book from Amazon at this link. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09QFG4ZR6

And I am Mighty Blue or Steve Adams.

As many of you know, I've been away for a while and the last couple of weeks we've been

0:47.3

kind of doing a couple of catch-up shows, both of which, by the way, reached a larger audience

0:51.6

than ever, which is good.

0:53.3

But my intention has been to get back

0:55.0

to whatever normal is with an interview, a couple of catch-ups with our Mighty Blue Class of

1:00.6

2022 and a reading from a book. Well, all that is happening today. So we're getting there.

1:07.2

First up, we have a man who goes by the name of the Tick Terminator.

1:17.4

Let me explain why, but rest assured he's well worth listening to, particularly regarding these pesky little creatures.

1:20.9

His real name is Brian Anderson and Brian will be on in a moment.

1:26.8

Then two of our Class of 22 will be on to tell me a few recent adventures and decisions they've made.

1:28.4

Dom Tomorrow and Joanne Burdett will be on after Brian. Now for the book. When I asked you all to come up with a book

to read in the past, many of you told me to get permission to read the very funny journal of George

1:40.2

Staphanas. It's called Then the Hail Came. I'd read quite a bit of it myself, so I was eager

1:45.7

to contact George. Problem was, I couldn't get a response from him. I wrote to him back in January

1:52.0

2020 and when I heard nothing, I just went and found another story. Then the day after I'd flown

1:57.6

to England for five weeks this March, he got back to me. Talk about playing it hard to get, George. Still, he said he'd been going through that now defunct email address and found my email, having heard through Facebook, that I've been trying to get a hold of him. Anyway, the upshot is that he'd be happy for me to read it. So I'll be starting with the prologue this morning, then starting at Chapter 1 next week. I think you're going to love it. Actually, while I'm on the subject to defunct emails,

please be aware that the email, which I used to use, Steve at Mighty Blue on theat.com, does not
