Brianna, I share all of your frustrations, all of your concerns.

I think you've highlighted the major problems that we on the left face and struggle with,

and much of it is very dispiriting.

But we have to just keep slogging away.

I'll go on Saturday to Washington, partly for my own morale to march with hopefully many, many others for justice, for the

Palestinians. There is finally this imperative to resist, which is not practical but moral. And when

we stop resisting, there's a part of us that dies, and we can't let that happen.

Well, for my last question, since we raised this issue of resistance, I have found myself

getting to a lot of fights on Rising with Robbie about this question and what it means,

what it means for there to be protection under international law for occupied people to resist.

And the tension between that,

right, with people's condemnation of violence against civilians. The juxtaposition of

condemnations of Hamas rhetoric that says they target civilians, while we're seeing quite visibly, Israel target large

concentrations of civilians and saying, well, we aren't targeting civilians because we're saying

there is a Hamas person somewhere there in the mix. We're seeing a lot of outrage about

October 7th and statements about the

obvious entitlement Israel has to retribution, but a failure to recognize a kind of parallelism

for what Palestinians entitled to in retribution for 75 years of oppression for the last 17 years of occupation within Gaza.

And it's a very thorny thing to navigate because I do think there's a very humanistic desire,

obviously to say killing civilians is wrong.

That being the case, how do you start to talk about what Palestinians are entitled to do

with respect to force? It's not entitled. You know, with those of us who covered Gaza, if there was
